Below is the application that Alliance Metals/Rose Law Firm has sent to the county for the rezoning and minor amendment to the comprehensive plan of the county.

There are a number of things that you will find when you read this.  First they never use the word smelter.  They only talk about recycling.  Secondly they talk about their facility being “green” which we all know is misleading and inaccurate.  Thirdly, it is prepared by their attorneys, not Alliance Metals nor their “environmental consultant.  It probably was not done by Alliance because they still only have one employee.  There is no mention of the chlorine they plan on using or anything about the “dross” and “salt cake” toxic waste either.  There are many many more issues with the accuracy of this application but I will let you draw your own opinion.  I am preparing a detailed rebuttal to the application that I will have in the hands of the Planning and Zoning Commission prior to their meeting so they have a balance of information.

When you read this application it sounds like they are going to make rainbows and unicorns.  It is very devoid of actual facts and does not represent the reality of the facility itself.

I am publishing this so that the public can see the application and for an aid to those who plan on speaking at the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting.  I hope this helps and also that it gives people information on how the company plans on trying to sell the project to the county.
